Tell The story of the Atomic Theory
Task: Create a rap/song or a children’s book explaining how the atomic structure has changed through time.
Web resources: Please view my website for resources on the web that can be used. Topics covered are 1) overview of history of atomic model development 2 Greek Model 3. Dalton’s Theory 4. Thomson’s Experiment and 5. Rutherford’s Experiment. Remember to identify all sources of information.
Children’s Book Requirements:
1) A plot
2) Picture and explanation of the following:
a) The structure of the atom
b) John Dalton
c) Neils Bohr
d) John “JJ”Thomson
e) Ernest Rutherford
f) A picture of major point of experiment (Dalton’s, Thomson & Rutherford)
g) Contains at least 3 facts about scientist
h) Sources are listed
3) Story must be clear and easy to understand.
Rap/Song Requirements:
1) Words must flow and be logical
2) Song must mention
a) 4+ scientists (Neils Bohr, John Dalton, John Thomson & Ernest Rutherford)
b) 3+ experiments
c) 3+ facts about each scientist
d) Give major points of the experiment

Write a reflection of the activity after you are finished for your eportfolio.
Paragraph 1: Describe the process that you went through to put this video/brochure together. Paragraph 2: What academic expectations, GSESs and applied learning standards were addressed? Did you meet each of them? Why or why not? If you did not, what can you do to improve your assignment? Paragraph 3: What were the strengths and weaknesses of the assignment? Where will you use the skills you obtained in this assignment again?
