Problem:  In the form of a question write the purpose of the lab.

 

Background Information:  This is where you research your problem.  It may include results from similar experiments.

 

Hypothesis:  Based on the background knowledge, write an educated guess based on what will happen in your experience.

 

Materials:  List materials used in lab.

 

Procedure:  Describe how the experiment will be performed.  Each step should be numbered.

 

Data:  Any information gotten from the experiment should be written here.  This information maybe in a form of a chart, graph or table.

 

Analysis:  This is the section where you look over your data and discuss why something happened.  If there are any errors in data or something went wrong in the experiment this is the place to discuss those problems and the impact it had on your results.

 

Conclusion:  This answers the problem.  It should only be one sentence.
