Stress on Police officers.
So what is stress? Stress is simply a fact of nature—forces from the outside world affecting the individual. Studies show an increase in stress on Law Enforcement officers. Stress can create a variety of different issues. Right now, Law Enforcement is the highest profession involving suicide.
What can this stress do to a Law Enforcement officer? Having too much stress can lead the law enforcement officer into high blood pressure which eventually leads to heart problems such as strokes, heart attacks, etc. Insomnia can also be an issue for a law enforcement officer dealing with stress. The law enforcement officer may have scenes in their mind of what they have seen such as domestic violence, child abuse, and even rape. With a lot of stress happening in their life, the wife may file a divorce. The divorce can put the law enforcement officer into depression which may lead into suicide.
What can they do to get rid of this problem before any of these issues occur?
Law enforcement officers may exercise such as weight lifting to pull the stress out of them. Others may go to the shooting range to relieve a lot of stress and get it out. Law enforcement officers may plan dates ahead with their family to spend time with them and do various activities with them. The law enforcement officer could sit down with their parents or even the wife and talk about the complications. By hearing what others have to say, could calm the law enforcement officer down. They may also lay down closing their eyes and relaxing to relieve their concerns.
